PROGRESSION FROM MILD COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT TO ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
In patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment, donepezil is found to delay the clinical progression to Alzheimer's disease, but only in the short term. Vitamin E was not found to be beneficial.

Approval (new dosage form): Focalin XR (dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride) Extended-Release Capsules. Indication: treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Approval (new dosage form): Ambien CR (zolpidem tartrate) Extended-Release Capsules. Indication: treatment of insomnia, characterized by difficulties with sleep onset and/or sleep maintenance.
